Stretching, deformation, or contrast creates a pulled visual tension.

Structure

  • Elements appear stretched, compressed, or in conflict
  • Opposing forces implied through shape distortion or contrast
  • Visual instability that draws the eye
  • Tension resolved or unresolved depending on message
